"Imprints of Book Conservation" at Hong Kong Central Library Shows the Work Behind Book Preservation
At the Cultural and Historical Resources Corner on the 8th floor of the Hong Kong Central Library, "Imprints of Book Conservation — A Journey into Preservation and Conservation" looks at the work behind book preservation and conservation. The exhibition notes that library collections are affected by environmental, human and natural wear: paper ages over time and bindings loosen and fall apart. It introduces remedial treatment and preventive measures for long-term preservation of the collections.
According to LCSD cultural programme information, the exhibition runs from 2 September to 29 December 2026, during library opening hours. It is worth checking the library's latest announcements for the exhibition period and opening arrangements before you go.
Editor’s noteA good fit if you are curious about book conservation, and easy to pair with a library visit; check the exhibition period and opening hours online before heading over.
