Guqin Exhibition at Shui Wo Street Library Opens 17 October
The Music Office's exhibition A Rendezvous with the Guqin runs from Saturday 17 October to Thursday 29 October 2026 at Shui Wo Street Public Library, during library opening hours.
It introduces the guqin, one of China's earliest plucked instruments, with a history going back nearly 3,000 years; in the traditional scholar's four arts, the qin came first. In 2003 guqin art was inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The exhibition is also part of the Chinese Culture promotion series. If you are planning a visit, you could check whether other libraries nearby have exhibitions at the same time and pick a day that suits you. Before setting out, it is worth checking the library's opening hours for that day.
Editor’s noteFree to enter, easy to see while visiting the library; check opening hours before you go.
