Music Office Music Exhibition – A Rendezvous with the Guqin

Guqin Exhibition at North Kwai Chung Library Explores a World Heritage Art

The Music Office of the LCSD is holding a guqin exhibition at North Kwai Chung Public Library from 1 to 15 October 2026, open during library hours.

The display introduces the guqin, one of China's earliest plucked instruments, with a history reaching back nearly three thousand years. It held first place among the four arts of qin, qi, shu and hua that traditional scholars were expected to know. In 2003, guqin art was inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
