Tung Chung in October: Moonchu Early Chinese Photography Roving Exhibition
Looking for an indoor option in October? Consider the roving exhibition at Tung Chung Public Library. It runs from 1 to 31 October 2026, during library opening hours, at Tung Chung Public Library, organised by the Office for Promoting Chinese Culture.
The exhibits come from the Hong Kong Museum of History's Moonchu Foundation Chinese photography collection, which holds over 20,000 photographs and related publications, mostly from the late 19th to early 20th century. Subjects include historical events and battles, as well as late Qing and early Republican city scenes and folk customs. This exhibition selects highlights to show China a century ago.
You could pair a visit with borrowing books at the library. Before going, it is worth checking the library's opening hours and the latest exhibition arrangements.
Editor’s noteIf admission is free, it is good value, and a handy October option for a rainy day or some quiet time.
