Kwun Tong Tai Wong Ye Temple: A Small Historic Shrine Behind Tsui Ping South Estate

Kwun Tong Tai Wong Ye Temple is listed as a Kwun Tong District spot on Hong Kong's 18 Districts free-and-easy guide. According to the official introduction, it was originally in Lok Fu and was rebuilt in 1963 at its current hillside site behind Tsui Ying House, Tsui Ping South Estate, due to community redevelopment. It honours Li Wenzhong, said to be an ancestor of a Song dynasty loyal official; the interior is solemn, and the entrance features finely carved left-green-dragon and right-white-tiger murals, which the official text says are worth a closer look.

For an itinerary, pair it with nearby Jordan Valley Park, ZCB or Kwun Tong Promenade for a half-day walk. The official guide suggests using the Transport Department's HKeMobility to plan routes. Check the latest opening information before you go.
