Cha Kwo Ling: A Century-Old Stone Village and a Dragon Boat on Land

Cha Kwo Ling sits south of Laguna City in Kwun Tong, and its village is over a century old. The draw here is stone: the 1948 Cha Kwo Ling Road Tin Hau Temple is a two-hall, three-bay building with granite walls, a reminder that quarrying once sustained the area, and it was graded Grade III in 2010. The village also keeps the 20-metre "Hop Yee Lung" dragon boat, built in 1958 and now stranded on land after reclamation, though villagers still make offerings at Dragon Boat Festival. Law's Residence, built around 1900 from granite blocks with a tiled roof, was graded Grade III in 2011.
