Jao Tsung-I Academy: A Century-Old Heritage Site on Castle Peak Road, Mei Foo

Jao Tsung-I Academy sits on Castle Peak Road in Mei Foo, converted from the former Lai Chi Kok Hospital. The complex has over a century of history, having served as a customs outpost, Chinese labourers' quarters, quarantine station, prison, infectious disease hospital and mental health recuperation home; the former hospital was graded a Grade III historic building in 2010.

The site is split into three zones: the Lower Zone holds the art gallery, heritage hall, Sky Light Cloud Shadow and a bronze statue of Professor Jao Tsung-I; the Middle Zone has exhibition halls, a restaurant, performance hall and study lodgings; the Upper Zone is the Heritage Lodge.
