Man Mo Temple, Sheung Wan: A Three-Building Heritage Cluster on Hollywood Road

Man Mo Temple in Sheung Wan sits on Hollywood Road in the Central and Western District. It is not a single temple but a cluster of three buildings — Man Mo Temple, Lin Shing Kung and Kung Sor — built roughly between 1847 and 1862 and declared a monument in 2010, separated by two alleys. Man Mo Temple honours Man Cheong, associated with knowledge and studies, and Kwan Tai, the Three Kingdoms general linked with martial valour and loyalty. Lin Shing Kung houses various deities, while Kung Sor once served as a meeting and dispute-resolution place for local Chinese.
