Hong Kong Museum of Medical Sciences: A Red-Brick Heritage Stop in Sheung Wan

The Hong Kong Museum of Medical Sciences sits on Caine Lane in Sheung Wan, in the former Old Pathological Institute, which opened in 1906 as Hong Kong's first laboratory built for public health and medical testing. The red-brick building is Edwardian in style, two storeys plus a basement, declared a monument in 1990 and turned into a museum in 1996. Its exhibition rooms cover the development of Chinese and Western medicine and medical heritage in Hong Kong.
