Mount Davis Fort Historical Trail: Grade II Heritage Hike with Sea Views

This heritage trail starts at the junction of Victoria Road and Mount Davis Path, running about 2 km. Along the way you can see military remains of the Mount Davis Fort, including gun batteries, an observation post, barracks and a parade ground, with information boards explaining the history. The fort opened in 1911 as one of Hong Kong's major coastal defence batteries, saw action during the 1941 Battle of Hong Kong, and was rated a Grade II historic building in 2009. From the higher points you get wide views of Lamma Island and the West Lamma Channel, and sunset is a bonus. Wear proper shoes, bring water and sun protection, and check opening information before you go.
