Tam Kung Temple, Shau Kei Wan: A Century-Old Shrine in Eastern District

Tam Kung Temple in Shau Kei Wan, Eastern District, sits on Tam Kung Temple Road. Built in 1905, it is one of Hong Kong's oldest Tam Kung temples. The two-hall building enshrines Tam Kung in its main hall and keeps a bell and altar cast in the Guangxu reign; it was graded a Grade III historic building in 2013. Tam Kung is said to have attained immortality at 13 and to have controlled weather and healed the sick. Worshippers visit for his birthday on the eighth day of the fourth lunar month.
