Wartime Cooking Ranges on the Quarry Bay Tree Walk in Tai Tam Country Park

Along the Quarry Bay Tree Walk, inside the Quarry Bay Extension of Tai Tam Country Park, you can find a set of wartime cooking ranges. According to 香港自遊樂在18區, the government built them between 1938 and 1939 as a standby for cooking during wartime.

The same source notes the Battle of Hong Kong began on 8 December 1941 and the city fell after only 18 days, so the ranges are said never to have been used.
