Aberdeen Country Park and Reservoir: A Green Southern District Escape

Aberdeen Country Park sits in the south of Hong Kong Island and covers 423 hectares, making it a solid choice for hiking and outings. Much of it was damaged during the Second World War; today's greenery comes from post-war planting and natural regeneration.

There are several walking trails, plus the Aberdeen Tree Centre, Hong Kong's first tree-themed education centre, with display boards, models and computer kiosks.

Aberdeen Reservoir lies within the park and is split into upper and lower sections, completed in 1932. Dense woodland surrounds the water, and the dams are a spot to watch the green valley change through the seasons.
