Tai Wong Ye Temple in Wong Chuk Hang: A Neighbourhood Temple in White and Gold

Tai Wong Ye Temple sits in the Southern District, at the junction of Nam Long Shan Road and Heung Yip Road in Wong Chuk Hang. The government allocated land for its rebuilding in 1982, and the site is said to be where the Tai Wong Ye statue was found. Built of concrete with white walls and golden tiles, the temple has a fairly modern form, with porcelain paintings donated by worshippers on its outer walls. The main hall houses a seated Tai Wong Ye statue about 2 metres tall, while the statue recovered at the time remains in the shrine.
