Tai Tam Country Park: Hiking and Reservoir Views on East Hong Kong Island

Tai Tam Country Park lies in eastern Hong Kong Island, running from Jardine's Lookout in the north to the ridges around Twin Peaks in the south, bounded by Stanley Gap Road, reaching Wong Nai Chung Gap in the west and Tai Tam Road in the east. It covers 1,315 hectares, about one-fifth of Hong Kong Island. Tai Tam Reservoir sits within the park, where paths are broad and easy, with lush trees and fine views. Trails around Violet Hill, Twin Peaks and Mount Butler are rougher, so gauge your fitness first. The famous Sir Cecil's Ride links Wong Nai Chung Gap and Mount Parker Road.
