Old Stanley Police Station: Hong Kong's Oldest Surviving Police Station

When you are out in Stanley, beyond the waterfront and market, look out for the Old Stanley Police Station on Stanley Village Road. Built in 1859, it is the oldest surviving police station in Hong Kong and was declared a monument in 1984.

The two-storey building is plainly constructed, with a colonnade on its front facade in a classical style. Inside, the original brick arched ceiling and fireplace of the former armoury are still kept, which makes the architectural details worth a look.
