Pat Kan Uk in Stanley: A Red-Brick Seafront Row to Visit Respectfully

Pat Kan Uk sits on the eastern side of Stanley Bay in Southern District, a row of connected seafront houses. In the 1930s the government built the Wong Ma Kok battery and put up eight terraced homes here to rehouse eight affected households. The red-brick walls, uniformly green doors and pitched tiled roofs give the group its character. Seven houses were graded Grade II in 2011 and one Grade III in 2012. Residents still live there, so please do not enter private areas. To plan a trip, use the Transport Department's HKeMobility and enter "New Pat Kan Uk Sitting-out Area" as the destination.
