A Peak Day Out: Tram, Loop Walk, Peak Park

The Peak rises about 552 metres and is the highest point on Hong Kong Island, with wide city views from the top. One way up is the Peak Tram, in service since 1888 and described as Asia's earliest funicular system; it runs from the central business district through Mid-Levels to the terminus at Peak Tower. Peak Tower has dining, shops and interactive entertainment plus a viewing platform, while Peak Plaza opposite also has a viewing deck, shops and restaurants. For more walking, follow the Peak Circle Walk via Lugard Road and Harlech Road for north-south island and harbour views, or head up Mount Austin Road or the Harlech Road Fitness Trail to Victoria Peak Garden, with lawns, pavilions and views towards High West, Pok Fu Lam Reservoir and Lamma Island.
